Configuring external URLs and autodiscover

To ensure that devices and client software can correctly access BlueMind via mapi, EAS or IMAP synchronization connections, make sure that BlueMind's external url and autodiscover are correctly configured.

External URL

BlueMind's external URL must be reachable in HTTPS from client workstations without displaying a security warning.

The autodiscover URL

Introduction

Autodiscover is the mechanism that enables servers and client software to automatically detect the connection settings for a mailbox.

The autodiscover URL is usually formed by replacing the 1st part of the external URL with the autodiscover keyword.
For example, for the external URL server https://mail.bluemind.loc, the autodiscover URL will be https://autodiscover.bluemind.loc.

Requirements to be met

  1. The autodiscover URL must point to the BlueMind external URL (see above).
    To do this:
    • go to the administration console in System management > Supervised domains > select the relevant domain > General tab
    • enter the autodiscover url in the "Other URLs" field:
  2. No security warning related to the ssl certificate should be displayed when accessing this address from a browser.
  3. DNS records must be active.
