Compatibility

This page provides BlueMind compatibility information with web browsers, third-party software and mobile devices. It includes a review of tested and verified devices as well as known issues with some devices or operating systems.

Browsers

BlueMind supports the following web browsers, using the latest version available is always recommended:

Thunderbird

BlueMind supports recent versions of Thunderbird, specifically since version 57.0.

Regardless, we recommend that you install updates as they become available so that you can enjoy its creators' and contributors' upgrades and features.

Outlook

This section concerns the use of Outlook in MAPI, i.e. without a connector.

Supported versions

The Outlook versions supported by BlueMind are :

• Outlook 2021
• Outlook 2019
• Outlook 2016
• Outlook 365
  • This version evolves continuously with Microsoft 365. It is not controllable and may therefore temporarily present specific features linked to 365 that may impair its use with BlueMind. Its use is therefore not recommended.
• Outlook Mobile (see Mobile devices )

The following versions of Outlook are not supported :

• Outlook 2013
  • Due to Microsoft's discontinuation of support for this version since April 2023 and the specific constraints associated with this version, BlueMind cannot guarantee optimal operation of Outlook 2013. Although it will continue to work on the whole, problems may arise that we are unable to resolve. To ensure an optimal and secure experience, we therefore strongly recommend migrating to a more recent, supported version of the software.
• Outlook for Mac OS

Upgrades

Whatever the version, Outlook must be kept up to date via Windows Update.

Unsupported features

Configuration
Hidden/online hybrid mode	Account configured to download items that are a certain amount of time old (e.g. 1 month). Recent data is downloaded and accessed locally, while older data is accessed online directly. Recommendation/Alternative: Use Offline mode
Mail
Linked attachments in emails	Attach to an email and link files on a file sharing space.
Recall email	Cancel the sending of an email and remove it from the server's send queue or by deleting it or replacing the message body with a notification message if already delivered to user mailboxes.
Shared email folder ↳ Provided in BlueMind 5	Share a single email folder and not your entire mailbox. Recommendation/Alternative: Ask the administrator for a shared mailbox between the users concerned
Filters ↳ Provided in BlueMind 5	Outlook's filter support is partial. Recommendation/Alternative : use server rules in user's BlueMind preferences management
Automatic replies different according to recipient	BlueMind does not offer to differentiate automatic replies according to whether the recipient is internal or external to the organization. Automatic replies configured from Outlook apply to all recipients even if they are configured in the "Within my organization" tab.
Calendar
Event attachments	File attachments to calendar events are supported in versions 2016 and higher.
Trash
Restore an element other than email	Restore an appointment, contact, etc. placed in the trash

Mac OS X

The CarDav and CalDav protocols are currently validated only with Mac OS X native clients and, preferably, with an up-to-date OS. In view of the permissiveness of the standard, we are unable to certify correct operation with other clients using this protocol.

Mobile devices

The EAS protocol used is a standard; however, it is possible that some devices may experience malfunctions, due to overrides added by manufacturers or operators. When this is brought to the attention of our teams, and we are able to test the template presenting the problem, a correction can be made.

Compatible applications

Each application has its own specific features, depending on the device manufacturer and OS (e.g. access to shared calendars on IPhone/IPad and certain Samsung Android smartphone and tablet templates).

ActiveSync synchronization provided by BlueMind is compatible with the default applications: Email/Gmail on Android (name depending on model and version) and Mail on IPhone. These are the preferred applications.

Although supported, BlueMind does not recommend the Microsoft Outlook application for mobile (formerly "Outlook.com"), as when configured on a smartphone, BlueMind usernames are transmitted to Microsoft, which will store the user's data (mail data, calendars, etc.). The stored data is then synchronized with the Microsoft Outlook application for cell phones (with Microsoft acting as a proxy between BlueMind and the application).

Android

BlueMind runs on all Android versions since 4.4.2 or higher, and preferably the latest upgrade offered by the manufacturer or mobile operator.

Known limitations
Multicalendar display	As Android does not allow different calendars to be displayed using differentiated colors, the display of shared calendars is not possible by default; only the user's calendar appears and is functional. However, it is possible to activate the feature in order to pair it with a third-party application:Multicalendar on smartphones. Warning: this only concerns the user's calendars (default and secondary calendars), shared calendars (domain or user) will not be visible even after activation.
No synchronization of Drafts folder	Drafts synchronization has been available via ActiveSync since version 16 of the protocol. As BlueMind implements version 14, drafts cannot yet be synchronized.
Huawei	Huawei's native calendar app has issues, including untimely deletion of appointments. Pending corrections from Huawei it is advised not to use it and to prefer the Google Calendar application, present and functional on the devices.
Tasks	Task management is currently only available on Samsung devices, via the manufacturer's application (named SPlanner, Samsung Calendar or Calendar depending on device and language setting).

iPhone, iPad

IPhone and iPad versions with minimum iOS version 9.3.5 have been tested and are supported, without limitation, but it is always recommended to use the latest version available for your device.

Known limitations
Time synchronization limitation	For performance reasons, email synchronization is limited to the last 30 days, even in the case where the "synchronize all" option is selected on the device.
No synchronization of Drafts folder	Drafts synchronization has been available via ActiveSync since version 16 of the protocol. As BlueMind implements version 14, drafts cannot yet be synchronized.

Windows Phone

BlueMind runs on all Windows Phone versions since version 7.10 (Mango, September 2011).

Known limitations
