By default, BlueMind opens with Mail, but it can also open with the Calendar. To do this, go to your account settings in Preferences - General - Default application.
Navigating through the interface
The main BlueMind Calendar default view is made up of:
: The calendar grid, which can be used to go to a date quickly. Use the arrows to scroll along the months and click the date to open the period that contains that date in the main window (day, week or month depending on the current setting).
: list of calendars currently displayed, plus access to views and tags
: the search engine allows you to search for events by name, tags, details, participant, etc.
: The action bar with on the left the action buttons to switch between time periods and on the right the display settings buttons and the tools menu for printing, importing, exporting and refreshing the current view.
: The main calendar view showing all the events for the calendars selected in area B.
Searching or filtering events
The search engine
The search engine allows you to search for events by keyword: enter a word and validate with the Enter key or the magnifier button . Events are then presented in List view :
To exit the search, click on a view type (Day, Week, etc.) to return to it.
The engine searches all displayed calendars, and only those.
Filtering by category
The calendar allows you to associate keywords with events: tags.
To filter the view to display events corresponding to one or more tags, click on them in the left-hand column (see above):
↳ Events that do not fall into one of these tags are hidden. ↳ Other tags appear grayed out in the list, and can be clicked to activate them.
- To deactivate a tag: click on it again.
- To reset view: deactivate all tags.
Identifying key event characteristics
To make it easier for you to identify events, their key information and properties can be seen in the Calendar. Each event shows:
- times, title and location
- property icons
multiple attendees
private event
recurring event

- your availability: shown as a light border
- categories assigned to the event: indicated by color at bottom right:
Identifying calendar types
- Personal calendars: by default, a calendar with your name is created at the same time as your email account. You can manage this calendar and share it - with different permission levels - with others in your organization. You can also create as many personal calendars as you like.
- Domain calendars: these calendars are used to inform members about organization-wide events, e.g. company holidays, marketing events, etc. These calendars are created by your administrator and cannot be meeting organizers or be invited.
- Resource calendars: these calendars are created by your administrator and used to book organization assets (meeting rooms, vehicles, etc.) available to you. Resource booking can be automatic or assigned to a resource manager.
- External calendars: in addition to your personal calendars, you can view external calendars in your BlueMind Calendar.
