tip

Default startup application

By default, BlueMind opens with Mail, but it can also open with the Calendar. To do this, go to your account settings in Preferences - General - Default application.

The main BlueMind Calendar default view is made up of:

  • : The calendar grid, which can be used to go to a date quickly. Use the arrows to scroll along the months and click the date to open the period that contains that date in the main window (day, week or month depending on the current setting).
  • : The list of calendars currently displayed as well as access to views and tags.
  • : The search box, which can be used to find events by name, tag, detail, attendee, etc.
  • : The action bar with on the left the action buttons to switch between time periods and on the right the display settings buttons and the tools menu for printing, importing, exporting and refreshing the current view.
  • : The main calendar view showing all the events for the calendars selected in area B.

Identifying key event characteristics

To make it easier for you to identify events, their key information and properties can be seen in the Calendar. Each event shows:

  • times, title and location
  • property icons
    • multiple attendees
    • private event
    • recurring event
    • attachments
  • your availability: shown as a light border
  • tags: shown as colors in the bottom right corner

Identifying calendar types

  • Personal calendars: by default, a calendar with your name is created at the same time as your email account. You can manage this calendar and share it - with different permission levels - with others in your organization. You can also create as many personal calendars as you like.
  • Domain calendars: these calendars are used to inform members about organization-wide events, e.g. company holidays, marketing events, etc. These calendars are created by your administrator and cannot be meeting organizers or be invited.
  • Resource calendars: these calendars are created by your administrator and used to book organization assets (meeting rooms, vehicles, etc.) available to you. Resource booking can be automatic or assigned to a resource manager.
  • External calendars: in addition to your personal calendars, you can view external calendars in your BlueMind Calendar.
